h4 upper roller

Bought a an allis h4 while back/he right top roller has almost 3 sides. really egg shaped. What causes this. thanks norm

probably roller has frozen up a 3 times and track wore the surface

I thought that also but the roller was good and free. Took it off and there is hardly any wear at all in the inside. Really was surprised when I took it off. norm

Seen that happen on crawlers run in the winter, top roller will freeze up. Some replace the top roller with a slide when run in the winter.

any frozen dirt against a roller will usually lock it up--very important to clean undercarriage out in the winter

Cold weather, packed with dirt and/or possibly the tracks too tight where they don't put much weight on the roller to turn it.
