My Dad(94yrs.old) just gave my brother in law and me his420c, it has a I.D. plate welded to the side that says ATECO (American Tractor Equipment Corp.) Dad thinks it is a mid 1930s The I.D. plate has the Model # L-JD420C and Serial # 7711. We really want to get it restored ASAP and take it and Dad to a Antique Tractor Show any information will help Thanks :)

Sorry don't think it is from the 30's. JD 420 C's were built from 1956 to 1958.. Their should be a tag on the Lt side where the engine bolts to the bell housing. ATECO probably added the blade/ loader or such to it.. post some pictures and some one will surely be able to help. Of course I maybe totally wrong about it..

Correct on the build years. The tag you see is for the loader attachment, crawler serial number tag is either on the LH side of the center section, or just a little below the sediment bowl depending on year.
Parts for the crawler are probably no big deal, loader will be difficult at best, but they used many off the shelf components.
