Komatsu D41 Track Loader

There was quite a few D41's in my neck of the woods decent machines, one customer had three and used them in the demolition business, final drives and track frames stood up well compared to a Cat 951,they also had bolt on sprocket rims, decent six cylinder engine about 90hp,the ones he had had standard buckets about 1.5 cy,I think they weighed round 12 ton, overall view they were good machines, pity they stopped making them.

Being a mechanic I look at them this way. I know several customers that have them and I haven't had to work on one of them yet....

The Cat 951C has a bit more power at 95HP,weighs a bit more and has a bigger bucket at 1.75 cy,the smaller Cat 941 weighs about the same as the D41 is 80HP with 1.25 cy bucket, neither of the Cats have segment sprockets unless they have been converted, the D41 in the picture looks very intact,it could look real smart with a bit TLC,the bucket looks good for a 4 in 1,they came out bout 30 years ago, were very popular with contractors but come the 90s the 360° excavators machines had taken over and Komatsu stopped making crawler loaders.
