My buddy just bought a Huber Maintainer, serial # HM 8796 and it's the older style with the rounded sloping nose. Any idea of the year ? He says it has a Hercules 6 cyl , but the ID tag has been torn off. Anybody know what model this is ? Or point me to an info source ?? Thanks , Dale

He's thinking the grader is from the late '40's, early '50's , Is that engine from that period ?

I talked to him today , This engine has a side shaft that drives the water pump and dist. your 298 sounds much more modern ....thanks anyway ....

Dalex-Maintainer production was from ~1943 until ~1984. Maintainer was based on earlier Model B farm tractor originating in 1936 (Buda engine). For more specifics: Huber Mach'y. Museum, Marion OH, ph:740-387-9233.

SC: thanks for the info !! I'm going down there Wed. I'll get lots of pix for you guys .....
