Ac HD 10 scrap dozer

Not sure what scrap is bringing but that machine probably weighs 10-11 tons.
A better alternative would be to sell it to a yard that will part it out. I'm sure there are guys out there that could use parts off your dozer to keep their's running.

Suggest posting on the Allis site in the construction equipment section. I"m sure someone would appreciate the machine for parts if nothing else.

I sold the dozer for scrap. It weighed 28000 lbs and the dealer came and hauled it off and I got .06 a pound. Roy

I don't like to see old tractors and dozers scraped. They can be used for parts or rebuilt. You got ripped off. Scrap sells for $210.00 a ton.

Gotta figure if someone is loading and hauling it, they're not gonna pay what they sell it to the scrap yard for.
Too bad he scrapped it instead of selling it to a wrecking yard that would part it out. Considering how little he got for it I suspect he would have done just as well or better selling it to a wrecking yard.

My Dad owned this HD-10 Allis in the mid 1970's...He had the 4-71 Detroit rebuilt and it never had 100 hours of use when it was sold to a neighbor in the late 1970's....He never used it..Two weeks ago on his estate sale it sold for scrap for $850...

Scrap was going for 14.00 per hundredweight here last week. (Short iron, so it would have to be cut up.)That's 280 per ton.

A friend here could only get .07/lb for his scrap (picked up), but it was smaller pieces except for the D6.
