case crawler G310D

I bought a parts manual and a service manual. it says SN 3023001 and after . mine is 3013---. so is there a big difference or just add on items OR DID I WASTE MY MONEY. Also mine says model G310D. What is the D for as mine has a 4 cylinder gas motor in it. All help is appreciated. Thanks Norm

The D is the series. Case made 310s up to the G series. Yours would have the headlights set into the rounded nose cone. The pic I posted is of my older C series. That I an currently rebuilding the engine in. I am not sure when Case changed the engine from a 2 bolt 6V starter to the 3 bolt 12V starter. All the engines were 148cu.in., but had different blocks and internals. You may not have the correct parts listings for the engine, but from there back everything will be basicly the same. A quick look at the starter on the dozer and in your book will answer that question Sheet metal will vary.

There were many small changes made throughout the series run in much of the crawler other then the engine. Especially in places like the final drives.
