JD 350 Injection Pump

My brother has a 60's 350 loader. the injection pump---a cbc-331--will not put out any pressure when being spun after being bled.
Is there anyone that still rebuilds these old pumps?
Thanks

Some places will still "repair" them . . . mostly with used parts. Most new parts for that pump have been discontinued for 30 years.

Those pumps are expensive to repair.. a seal kit costs over 100.00..
Need a little info.. Did the drive shaft break?
Has it sat up for a long time? If it sat, maybe the pumping plungers are just stuck[hopefully].
I can do them, but if its seized, theres no parts available at a reasonable price.. Better off getting the conversion kit.. new pump and line kit. They can be found for around 3000.

You didn't mention the history. Did it die when running . . . or was it bought non-running with no prior history?

I'd look in the timing window and make sure the pump is turning inside. If so - try taking out the fuel-solenoid plunger and spring. Very easy to do. Many older CD and CB pumps already have it missing. Also - if the rack and pinion gears are worn out for the throttle and governor - sometimes you can take out the pinion gear - flip it 180 degrees and stick it back in to make it work. All those things are easy to try and cost no money.

ran good for a few years digging out a pond. was shut down for the winter and wouldn't start in the spring---solenoid was removed and fuel bleeds out of the bleeder--shaft is good--just no fuel out of injector lines. engine wouldn't fire on ether.

Dieseltech does a darned good job on injector pumps. You can usually find him on the Massey Ferguson forum. He's done a pump for me and I'm getting ready to send him another one. he's very reasonable also. Keith

Maybe the two high pressure plungers stuck over the winter. I'd try blowing some compressed air into it - backwards. You have to take off one injector line at the pump. Then rotate the pump until it's ready to send fuel out that hole. Then blow compressed air into it. That will force plungers to come out. It is also how you air-time an engine if the timing marks are missing.

JD--he pulled the pump off, had an injector guy take it apart and everything was free--could not find anything wrong--there may be another inherent problem--why does it not start on ether?? cam shaft not turning, valves frozen up? I told him to pull the valve cover and see whats going on there.

Did anyone ever check the pump to see if it was injecting fuel? Pretty easy to do. Just hook a line to an injector hanging outside the engine and crank.

yes--he pulled the injector lines off the injector and nothing came out when he spun the engine over but fuel bled out of the bleeder
