Looking at buying an Allis HD6 dozer. Anyone got one? The owner says the clutch needs adjusting. It won"t go in gear unless you kill the engine. Anyone replaced the clutch in one of these? Difficult? Parts hard to find?

When you desangaged the master cluch you have a brake cluch in the cluch housing and should stop turning the cluch for angaging the transmission and maybe the linning brake on is bad.

Please keep in mind there were 2 different clutches used in the HD6. I don't think there is a problem getting replacement parts. It is important to have the clutch brake adjusted correctly, if it isn't they are almost impossiable to shift. I only replaced them after I have pulled the engine, seemed a better option than standing on my head.
