Comments about 310 Case dozer

I have a 310G and like it. Good parts availability. Light enough to trailer with a 3/4 ton pickup. No steering clutches to get stuck. Very common Clark transmission and a Case engine. Mine has a 6 way dozer on it.

I have a 310G crawler loader. tough machine for its size. if the owner will allow it check the oil in the final's if its shines be careful. I rebuild mine from stem to stern have tooo much money in it but nice machine do not under estimate the work it can do

I second that about not underestimating repair costs. If there is much wrong with it, you WILL spend a bundle of money. It's kinda like remodeling the kitchen. Gee Honey, we should be able to do it for 6-8 thousand, shouldn't we? And $25,000 later you ain't done yet.lol!

SW MO. I said looking at,actually I just found it on CL and doing a little asking before I bother the guy.
At this point I am daydreaming but the money seems right and it makes a good picture, and It would find plenty to do if it lived here.

I'd regard $4800 as an OK price for a 310 with a 6 way inside hydraulic dozer and in good shape all around. I paid $2800 for mine and it needed new track adjusters and new bottom rollers. Mine is all gear-drive and no reverser. 188 diesel engine. Got all new rollers for $80 each and made the new adjusters myself. Good little machine. I was glad to find new cheap rollers made in Korea.

Yes, once you own a dozer you wonder how in the world you ever got along without one. I would advise you to be especially diligent on maintanence and servicing. If something needs repair, don't wait. Fix right away or things will start to pile up on you and you will have a piece of junk on your hands within a few years. As stated below, even a small dozer will cost an outrageous amount of money for a ground-up/stem-to-stern overhaul.

[ have a 420 crawler and think it is the same track tension as a 310, but do not know for sure how the track tension works, can you give any input, does the nut on the treaded rod turn and hold the round plate stay put and the rod turns in it. thanks for any input in, in other word does the nut turn the rod within the round plate that has two holes in it, thanks John cummins
