Case 580CK Engines

They are wet sleeved engines. You could change sleeve thickness to get a different bore without changing the block.
I'm pretty sure the blocks are different, but I can't remember what's different.

Its chalk and cheese, the gas engine has a 3 main bearing crank and the diesel 5,originally Case did make their own engines which were a good engine, nowerdays they are using Cummins and call it Case, good engine too but are sleeveless and have to be bored out should sleeves be needed, someone was telling me that CNH now owned by Fiat.

is' true fiat bought fords tractor line back in 1995 and when they went to buy CASEIH they sold the versatile line to buhler to get the capital to buy CASEIH thus getting the steiger 4-wheel drives. they also sold the genisis line of ford tractors to buhler, after they was outdated. fiat just kept the new holland name because it was widely recognized in America, also they was only allowed to keep the ford color for a few years along with the name then phased the name out and changed the color slightly. In short fiat owns both new holland and caseih called CNH (CASE NEW HOLLAND).

188 is 1 1/4 inch longer block. I have a 580ck that had a 159 in it that was junk. I put in a 201 out of a 660 case combine. It is 1 1/4 longer than the 159 also but with not much work it made a lot better unit. Email me if need more info.
