Help find serial number on D7e

I have a D7e build date 12/1967. I have been all
over the block looking for the serial number. Saw
where Hector suggested looking at the back of block
about where the 2 rivet holes are and I still find
nothing. Block casting #4S8840, and I am sure its
a D339 4 cylinder. I found rebuild kits from
Clevite, Blakesreman, Partsuplycorp. But with out
the serial number I am dead in the water. Any Help

Steve walk up to the rear of the tractor, take your left hand stick it straight out about waist high. The number is on a metal tag right there in front of your hand. On the rear housing top left corner. Now this is the unit serial number not the engine.
 
Maybe you could find a other serie number on bottom block motor on the lipp near the oil pan on same side poney motor
 
Hot Dog I found it! the unit number. Cleaned off layers of filth and paint and sure enough it was stamped in the rear under that bolt. Thanks

There won't be an arrangement number on that machine. Use the serial number that you found to order parts for the engine.
