Gas in CAT pony motor.

Last late fall I forgot to run gas totally out of pony engine. I have found AV fuel is great for these motors.Old 87 non ethanol in tank and carb bowl all winter.Yes I ran out of AV at end of summer. Finally got it started. Friend at local airport said a logger using older gasoline powered skidders just bought 20 gallons of AV fuel. I think he mixes some at start of season. Don"t know about others but sure works for me on 60 year old pony motor which most likely has never been rebuilt.

it is generally recommended to shut gas supply off to kill these pony motors so the bowl is dry and won't dilute the crankcase oil.
