I"m looking for advice on tracking down the cause of an overheating issue with my '83 model 100E. I replaced the thermostat with no effect. Does anyone have any experience with this issue that can point me in the right direction? Thanks for your help.

Almost always, is radiator air flow or stopped up with mud and oil. Swing out the oil cooler and take something like flat shipping strap. Work thru ever opening and wash and air till you get it perfect. The only other thing we see is if you have one that runs hot after say 4 hrs or so your tourque could be bad and causing the heat in the transmission oil to get hot then the oil cooler get so hot it causes the unit to run hot but my bet is stopped up air flow thru radiator. Might also take a look a alternator mount and make sure fan belts are not loose.
