this is my father in law, somewhere in italy during wwll doing some advance work no location on the pics maybe he wasnt allowed to list that at the time thought you all might like them too

I can only think about going DOWN some of those mountains over there with that set up. Army trucks were never know for great brakes.
 
That big Diamond-T 968 truck would have absolutely NO problem with those 2 little dozers, uphill or down. All of the 4-Ton Diamond-Ts were equipped with air brakes, so stopping power was no problem, unlike the hydro-vac equipped GMCs.
 
The first one is a Caterpillar D7, 7M or 4T, with a shorty stack too, LOL The hydraulic blade was not all that common, most were cable controlled. I will bet it is a 7M, hand crank hole for the starting engine is on the side, or looks to be, later ones were up top through the hood, because if you stalled one out nosed into the muck, made things easier up top.
