What to buy Case 450c or Deere 450G

What to buy? Both in great shape, case has 3100 hours deere has
3900 hours both undercarriages are over 80% both are bare back
with 6 way blade, both are one owner machines. Asking 18500 for
deere and 16,800 for case.

No brainer

Case, hands down. Better machine and will run circles around the Deere.

By the way, I own John Deere and Case in both ag and construction models.

Who's saying the undercarriage is 80%. Have they been changed already? I only ask because the hours would indicate a new chain close to worn out. 80% would indicate they're already replaced. Case is usually lower priced but I think the Case might be a little older too.

I say go with the deere . case is wanna be construction equipment. They are cheaper because they are less machine . Ive seen it and run them. U cant beat cat or deere u get what u pay for. Ive run dozer all my life. I own a DEERE and and it will out work a case double time.

i doubt that sounds like you just have a hard on for anything that says deere on it with no knowledge of dozers we are speaking of don't make it good just means you're paying for the name had new deere equipment much rather have other brands better performance and better price deere awfully expensive to work on

Have you, or can you run both? The only Case I was ever near enough to run a little had the two little levers for track control- Very different, to say the least!
I wanted pedal steer, full power shift, torque converter drive, and was able to find all that.
So I say buy whichever one you prefer to operate.

I don't have a hard on for deere. I do know that Ive done heavy dirt work all my life with heavy equipment, such as pipeline, and heavy highway dirt jobs. U seldom see case out there doing heavy dirt work, the others I run equipment with don't like them either, there weak and gutless compared to the other brands. When I do see case they are doing light work lite clean up and easy work. where there is dirt to be moved u had better start early and figure on a long day. BEEN there and as I said earlier seen it.

here where I am there are 10 CASE dozers for that size range than JD, the 450 is a very good dependable machine I have run and been around them since 1966, we traded for several JD units back in the day the 2010 units were not bad or the 350's the 450 here anyway seemed to have steering clutch issues, these were dozer and side boom units we have very few with loaders on them here, also the 450's we sold were used in the oilfield, some of the hardest duty you can put a dozer thru, abuse is a daily thing

Buy the John Deere, it is a much better built machine. The 450 case is a smaller machine, a little bigger than a 350 Deere. I work on equipment for a living and I've seen machines front to back, inside and out, and John Deere is a better machine than the Case.

hat about all the steering clutch issues?

I've heard operators say the Case is a far better machine too. 450's of any make aren't used for heavy work regardless, so I don't know what you're comparing them too. When there's a lot of dirt to move, you see Cat and Komatsu. Would be nice to know what year each machine is. I think a Case 450C is older than JD 450G. The JD's also had a choice of direct drive or torque converter transmission. Also don't put a lot of faith in what an hour meter says.

they are far from gutless, for their size they have plenty of power, I too have run and used them for 45 years, the JD units are good as well but lets be real gutless I really doubt you ever ran one much if any

I think you are the 1 that's windy. Ive got more hours then your years running dozers and I stand by what I said they are OVERRATED.I m not going to argue with someone.U can have your opinion and I have mine I will stick with JOHN DEERE.

Well as for me i like the Deere's over the Case. and to me a 450 is and OK size for light dozing and grading . Now the 650 Deere is a great dozer for size and power IMHOP as long as you add either a winch or four slab weights to the rear . That balances them out just perfect and they will move dirt push trees and grade super . With out the weight on the back they are nose heavy . The 450 Cases to me are way to light and to jerky .

Man I don't know. They are both pricy. You can get a darn nice Cat for that kind of money. If I had to pick it would be the Case. Those JD are bad news.
