Hough 100 Engine Swap

My chums Hough 100 4 cyl diesel locked up while running and he wants to swap it for a 3208 v8 cat that he has on hand -- any thoughts on this ?

Well my thought is the current engine is a 1500 rpm engine and the cat won,t have any guts till he gets to about 2200 rpm so right of performance will be soso and fitting it in there will be a job. I would,n do the swap for the loader if he gave it to me. But then that is just me.

An H100 is only a 4 cylinder? A 3208 is roughly 200 HP. Don't know of many 4 cylinder diesels in that HP range.
