Just got this loader unit. Had alot of steering clutch work done before but still doesnt steer on one side. Has the power steering option but resivor is empty will add oil what will happen? Thanks,.

Add oil to it... It isn't gonna hurt.. It will either leak externally on loose lines , rubbed thru lines , leak out of cylinder seals under the seat or leak thru the pump shaft seal into the engine.. If the engine oil level goes up a good bit , the shaft seal is leaking into the crankcase via front cover to sump.. When it's operating correctly , there will be a slight vibration felt in the steering levers when you pull on it..

Thanks Roy; What if it does all that, except ur last line" When its operating correctly"....lol. Thanks again..

What does "doesn't steer" mean? It does not brake? Does not de-clutch? Or does not push? All three must happen for good steering and all can be separate issues.

When adjusted correct with all parts working - clutch is fully engaged and brake is fully dis-engaged when not touching steering lever.

When you start to pull on the lever - clutch must disengage BEFORE brake starts to grap.

Pull hard and break grabs hard.

An easy test. Park on a steep hill, put it in gear (with engine running) and start going up - letting go of steering levers. Then - slowly pull back on them. If all is adjusted correctly - you will get to a point that even when in gear - the crawler will roll backwards easily. Pull a little more and it will stop and the engine will sound just the same (not laboring as if the clutches were dragging).

To adjust - first you adjust the brake-band size by cranking the size-adjuster tight and then back off one turn. Then you adjust the linkage inside the clutch-housing to get brake and declutch timing correct.

Thanks for reply; Its a long story, but was bought at consignment sale. Didnt have a chance to look at a few days before, didnt know it was there. Had some paper work with it, about $3000 worth of steering clutch work both sides. One side seems to work other side not. Will try ur suggestions
