I have a 310G nice drive sprockets and front idler but need new rail and pads has anyone ever looked at a Rubber track skidsteer and thought about using that on a crawler? Any thoughts

Prolly would never find rubber track of exactly the same length of a steel track. Steel track, you can put a link in or take it out but rubber track is one solid length. Of course, sprocket pitch & diameter would also have to match.

Common practice with mini excavators my side of the pond when steel tracks wear out to replace them with rubber ones, also have seen them used on show tractors, rubber tracks have been used on crawler tractors since the 1930's,would not be much good if you were going ripping rock but consider the service they give on the likes of the Challenger or the quad track Case tractors, they seem to work ok on them and skid steers so why not a crawler.

AJ that is my thinking exactly this unit weighs about 5500 lbs about the same as skid steer, Skid steers do just that. I wonder if there is a company that has done this already or has a little research.
