D239 to DT239 IH 684 TD8E

I have a IH 684 with the D239 engine and am kicking around the idea of adding a turbo to it. I know this engine was factory turboed in the TD8E crawler loaders but I have not been able to find out any other info like was there any internal engine changes between the two, or did the injection pump on the turbo model have a feature like the 5.9 Cummins 12v P-pumps that sensed boost and adjusted fuel accordingly? I can't remember what that's called. I have searched for manifolds, turbos etc needed to convert but have come up empty so far. I'm not in a hurry to try this, just thought it would be a fun project to tinker with one day. If someone has a TD8E some pics would be very much appreciated!

Ever time I junked a d239 in td 8 I always kept all the parts. Have every thing you need , Manifold turbo ect. Far as I know nothing different about the injection pump but there is a pump expert Diesel Expert on here might know.

That pump is similar to other 239 engines, the Bosch VA pump on some turbo engines had a boost aneroid control, that one did not. Just had the fuel turned up slightly.

Aneroid! That's the word I was trying to think of. Where is the screw located to turn up the fuel? Do you have a pic that shows?

The lower start-stop-run lever, the front bracket lower screw that limits forward travel is full load fuel screw. Back out for more fuel at full load. Make sure lever hits the screw, if cable sticks, or keeps the lever from full forward travel power will be less than it should.
These pumps are hydraulic governed, and sometimes have little excess fuel available. Parts are hard to find for them also anymore.

I had gathered that these pumps were obsolete. There is little point in adding a turbo if the pump is not capable of additional fuel. Can any newer pump be substituted?
