CAT D3C with 6000 hrs. on it. Runs good, Needs a complete bottom. Trying to get an idea what it's worth, looking to purchase.

A full Berco or equivalent aftermarket bottom(track groups, idlers, rollers and sprockets) will run you somewhere in the $4500+ range depending on pad size and miscellaneous hardware.Plus labor. Most decent D3c's with good bottoms are in the $17-20,000 range. So deduct the $4500... So somewhere around $12-13,000+ if the rest or the machine is in good shape, runs well, blade is tight,if you can do the track labor

$4500 for a complete new undercarriage? I think you need to add at least $3000 to that figure and even more if you price Berco. I did the undercarriage on my 931B a few years ago and Berco was more expensive than Cat. I put everything new except for top carrier rollers and it was 0ver $8000. I bought weld on sprocket rims to save some money. I used Trek SALT undercarriage cause it was a couple thousand cheaper and the SALT rails were only a couple hundred more per side than plain sealed. I paid a few hundred bucks extra to have them torque the pads on. I think it was money well spent.
