Owatonna 330 Jerky

I have a 330 Owatonna Mustang, it just starting "bucking, jerking, jumping" when trying to work at slow speeds in tight areas. Seems to be the same cold or warmed up. Any thoughts?

If it's hydrostatic, it could be that the double u-joints for the pump drive shafts are bad or need to be greased. A mechanic told that's the first thing to check if they get jerky. I grease them every time I change the oil but I know there's a lot of them that have probably never seen grease or don't have grease fittings.

Buddy of mine had an older new Holland that was doing the same thing. His problem turned out to be pretty much what Stick welding has mentioned already, wear in the universal joints in the drive line. Actually his went beyond that simple problem a little bit, but worn u-joints were the root cause of the whole mess.
