Oil in Rad removal ideas

Evening:I have the JD410B now and doing TLC on items, Discovered when the water pump was replaced, there is engine oil in the cooling water/rad...the oil cooler was replaced 4 or 5 years ago, so i have either oil from a previous leak or a new leak, which is going to be checked out.
Does anyone have a simple and good method to get the oil out of the cooling system?
tks

Put some dishwashing soap in the radiator and it will surprise you how easily it will clean the oil out. Be sure to drain and put in new coolant.

I"ve cleaned out quite a few over the years and as the others have said, dish detergent works great. Personally I like the kind that foams because the foam tends to reach places in the tank that the other seems to miss. The way I flush the radiator itself is to remove the bottom hose and connect your water to it there. Given that oil rises, a flow of water and soap from the bottom up tends to help force the oil up, and out the upper neck of the radiator. Once I get the inside of the radiator clean that way I usually just hook the lines back up and run some of the off the shelf radiator cleaner through the complete system. It may take a couple of times of filling and dumping for the water to come out clear, but eventually the system will be oil free again. Good luck.

Good ideas and solution[pun], I am going to use a few oil diapers[they don't soak up water] to take the oil off the rad top, and run it a bit. going to run it with the water hoses off the cooler to see if oil starts coming out, and flush, hopefully its from the previous cooler leak.
tks

I drain the coolant, and run it thru a pair of coffee filters(in an old milk strainer). the oil stays on top of the filter, leaving clean coolant.
