Good eye SMS! They are.

You might want to loosen the track tension a bit. They look a little tight. You'll tear the rear bearings apart running them too tight. IIRC they're supposed to have an inch of slack either side of the idler. If they want to pop off tighten them a little more, but if they still want to come off the chains are probably shot.

The tracks are a wee tight but according to the JD service manual there should be 7/8" droop
at a point midway between the rear sprocket
and idler. They show a two x four sitting on the tracks as a way to measure the droop.Luck,JimAnderson

It was still tied down to trailer .... may be why the tracks look tight. Been sitting for 10 years. Yes - the tracks are on backwards. Crawler needs some TLC. Thanks for your comments.

Just got the service/parts book in today's mail. This is my first JD (other than garden tractors). Little more complicated the my Oliver HG-68.
