Update: dead Cat E70B

2x4

Thanks to Bob & Roger. Sold it & moved it out today. Took out the sun gears & rolled freely right up the ramps & onto the equipment trailer. JD 550G moved it easily (weighs 20,000 vs. 14,000 Cat). Did have a tough time getting the cover holding ring off tho. Must take a special tool. Worked around it with a nailset punch. Took 2 hours getting one ring off & 10 minutes getting 2nd one off. Looks like there ought to be a slot cut to get behind the ring but found nothing. The covers themselves came hard. Had to take out the plugs & pull & pry from the inside with a hook while pecking with a hammer. About a half hour for each cover.

That's good 2X4, just one thing I forgot to tell you. If you ever disable the drive again on a machine and have to pull it down a grade chain a machine on back of it to hold it back. Otherwise it can get too exciting.

I've seen some youtube videos of that very thing! Luckily we were operating on 45 acres of bottom land; the only slope was the trailer ramps.
