I have learned a great deal from a few of you guys by your responses to my questions. Since I am going to work on my D7 this week I thought I would post my problem and get updated before I begin work. The left brake had not been working. I thought it was worn out or out of adjustment. What I found was a pin had come out and was laying in the bottom of case. The pin must be 6 or 7 inches long with reduced diameters on both ends. I have removed both inspection covers - one on the backside and one on top. I have not removed the fuel tank or seat. I see there is a fairly large cover on top, but I don't think that will come off without removing the operators platform/seat. I would prefer not to remove the operators platform/seat if I can help it. Can I put this back together through the two smaller inspection plates - one on top and one on the backside? What holds this pin in place so it won't come apart again? I assume it got so loose and moving it down the road it just vibrated itself out? Are there any washers, pins, or clips that hold it? There are no holes in this pin, just the reduced diameter on each end. Are there any diagrams that might be available. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Andy
