Correction,,933 traxcavator, need help

ok, so its a 933 not a 963,,the pin that the steer clutch linkage is on will not turn, how do you free it up, clutch is fine, but linkage wont move,,,please help, we are getting tired of only steering to the right,,,,will filling the housing with diesel help? Thanks,

have you liberally soaked the linkage with PB blaster or Kroil oil numerous times?

we have tried everything, even ATF and acetone, nothing is helping, its very hard to get at so getting lube on it isnt very easy, its under the seat and hyd manifolds.

What? You don"t like standing on your head? LOL Sold my 933 a few years ago and don"t remember having a problem getting things free there. Dropping springs and nuts was a problem...

Pretty sure it was inside the transmission I used a porta-power hydraulic tool to push on a pin. Would that work for you? If you haven"t been inside the transmission, you haven"t lived. Your choice: see what you"re doing OR have one hand in there. While standing on your head.

Replacing the primary hydraulic hose you"re wishing wasn"t there is another fun job, requiring a comealong. Access via the battery compartment.

I hope the Peruvians who bought my tractor are having as much fun.

my neighbor bought this machine from his boss, its in excellent shape,runs great and looks good, undercarriageis nice, only problem is that one pin,he is using the machine all the time, but can only steer the one way. He is almost done making his roads to his camp and will be selling me the machine next year, I can pick it up for 2000.00 yup 2 grand, thats what he paid.I think even if I had to have a shop fix that pin I would still be getting it cheap.

Jim, before I learned how to adjust the brakes I had an interesting trip back up my mountain... steering in one direction only. You saw the photo of the rocks I dealt with in the previous crawler thread?

Pretty hard to go wrong at that price, I got 4x that much for a well-worn machine. Then they paid $17k for its trip to Peru. Part of my reason for selling, other than preferring rubbertire, is that there are a pair of real interesting bearings in the transmission that you don't want to know anything about. Timken offered to make a pair for me, custom, someday. Mine suddenly looked great!

Good luck with it. Make sure you get repair and parts manuals, for that serial number machine. If you have a scan from the parts book about that pin it might jog my memory.

are you sure its the pin and not some other part of the linkage before the pin?--I assume the steering clutch lever is not moving back at all?

something is stuck, by looking at it and the manual its the pin,,maybe something else but thats the guess anyway
