john deere 300 backhoe

working on a 300 backhoe, (1530) diesel. hyd was overfilled n run n it wont start unless i drain the filter on the loader frame, when it starts, itll run for 10 seconds then hear some screeching from the front pump n he engine will pull down n die. starter wont crank it till bout 10 mins later. hyd oil is a lil milky, n i dont know much about the 1530/300 hyd systems well. can someone walk me thru the basics? hyd work fine as they should, just wondering if its a filter, screen, or pressure relief valve stuck? please help.

ps, i did drain 5 gallon of hyd fluid out n got it checking between the arrows on the dipstick. its been a while since filters were changed. thinking that sice it was overfilled, some debris/water trashed one or both filters?

I think I'd start with a gauge in the pump to see exactly what is going on.. If there are 2 plugs on the front casting , it would be the top one. right side.. Use a 3000 or bigger gauge to read stand-by pressure.. If it pegs the gauge , I'd look for a problem in that front casting...It should read 2250 to 2300 lbs. That's the stroke control valve housing..
