Try giving the guys at Off Road Equipment Parts a call. I did nearly a complete undercarriage on a 977G a year or so ago for a customer and we had to get two new ones due to the old springs being broken. Those springs are put together with something like 20 plus tons of force (I can get the book and find the true specs if needed)so putting one of those assemblies together isn't something you'd want to do without all of the right tooling. That being said your much better off replacing the whole assembly as a unit, where possible. If I remember right the assemblies weren't but something like $400 each so it's not much more, if not less than, the cost of having a machine shop take the time to fabricate one for you. With the assemblies all you've got to do is set it in and insure everything is adjusted like it's supposed to be and your done without having to deal with any more hassels. Hope this helps. Do you recall if the "G" is a 53A or 17A ser# machine? My inner spring looked in pretty good shape, Regal had the outer spring in stock, that's where I got it. No bolt or nut, but the salesman never mentioned an assembly available.
If you could check with your customer on that assembly, that would be great! That's the way I wanted to go from the start.
