Spanner tool for 310g

Found the bolt bent on my manual adjuster, in taking it off the bolt broke off at the threaded plate in front of the spring. Looks to use a fairly large spanner to remove this plate and the spring is still under pressure. Is there a special spanner sold for this or you guys just building one. Also any suggestions on how to contain this thing as it comes off the bolt. Only have an inch of thread holding it and like I said spring appears to be under pressure still so its probably gonna be exciting when it pops out of there. The case holding the adjuster assembly is shot so I was thinking of drilling and putting a bolt through the back to hold the adjuster bolt from shooting out and building a box in front of it with heavy Styrofoam and wood to catch the spring/threaded plate when it comes out... Any suggestions would be solid! I am in Alaska so we generally fabricate most of this stuff anyway but figured I am not the first to go through this by a long shot lol.

Well the track adjuster is one place you really need to be careful. Been many a folks hurt by the
spring flying around. What ever you rig up to get it out be careful.

Just an idea but you might want to look at the spring compressors designed for taking macpherson struts apart. The struts used on some front wheel drive cars. Not sure if they would be heavy enough for this use.

The recoil spring is held in compression by the center bolt,a proper press and tooling is needed to compress the spring to replace the bolt,as stated lots of people have been badly injured tampering with the said spring and releasing the stored energy, the center bolt can be rusted and break while trying to undo it and should the spring not be compressed it can take off like a cannon ball,I think its best to remove the recoil assembly and take it to the shop and have them fit a new bolt,if you look at the on-line Case CE parts site at the link below there is a drawing of the tool kit that came with the 310G.

Thanks for the advice. Decided to upgrade to the 350 style. I may have this one done just for grins but CNT said the right thing. Easier to adjust lol.
