Cat D3 Bleeding Fuel System

I had to clean the screen at the banjo nut at the transfer pump. Now I need to bleed the fuel. What is the proper procedure on a D3?

You might not have to bleed it if the machine was still running before you cleaned it. There's check valves in the transfer pump so hopefully you can just turn the fuel back on and it will start right up. My 931B loader started right up. Some D3's have a primer pump and some don't.

Mine has a primer pump but I am not sure if it is frozen up or what. It doesn't move when I try to push on it.

That brings up a question Bob--why did Cat eliminate the bleeder pump on the newer machines? They also went to a solid sprocket instead of the segmental? Seems both would be advantageous.
