Friend of mine is trying to sell me his jd 350 dozer
Says the clutch doesn"t work right until it warms up then it fine
He thinks its a valve is this possible or is it going to need replacing

Direction reverser has a filter in the lowest part of the case.. I think I'd drain the oil and change out that reverser filter and try it ..It only holds 9 quarts of oil and make sure you use the correct oil... [ Hydraulic/Transmission].. If it still acts up, It might need overhauling which isn't a cheap repair.. The filler and dipstick is under the air cleaner can..

Might be worn out or might be something simple (if you're lucky).

#1 - pull the floor pan up on the "driver's side" and make sure the valve-arm that is hooked to the clutch pedal is returning all the way. Often when the return spring gets oil and/or there's debris in there- is it blocked from returning all the way.

#2 - try opening up the "rate of shift" adjustable jet with a screwdriver. That can sometimes make a huge difference.
