IH 3200b Hydraulics stalls engine

Hi
My dad justy bought a IH 3200B skid steer that won"t turn. We blocked the machine up in the air and steering controls work just fine. Put it back on the ground and it drives forward and backwards fine when pushing both handles in the same direction, but stalls the engine when trying to make any turns. Took both pumps apart but couldn"t find anything broken. Could it be the wrong hydraulic fluid? Hope someone can help us out.

Thanks

Sounds like this a bit of a puzzle,my first thought was the motors plumbed correct,my memory is rusty but I think each motor had its own pump independent of the other, look at the pipework and see if any of the pipes is crossed,if you have a manual trace them.

Is the engine running strong enough to power the hydrostatics ?? Try feathering the levers so you aren't putting a big bind on the hydrostatics.. Does the engine just fall off or is it actually stopped dead ?? If it just quits and not stopped dead you might be faced with injection/governor or carburetion problems..
