D2 Starter Pinion

Pulled Pony motor but can't get starter cluster out. Took lever off side, cover off end nut off shaft, bearing out of end of shaft. Looks like pinion gear is holding up in housing. still hits inj. pump. Thanks for any help

Got it bigger pry bar. All rusty shaft and pinion and end casting.

You need to angaged the pinion and removed the fuel pump governor

I have a D2 with starter pinion engaged I think(can't turn pony engine) and tried unsucessfully to pry thru hole in clutch housing. Been a while and was wondering what I should do. Cannot engage main clutch on engine either. Can you guys help me get things back to normal or do I have to tear it completely apart to fix it?

jeo46 the pinion is bolted on the sleeve and if you could push on the 2 latchs on the sleeve the pinion should desangaged.
