I am going to replace the ATF fluid (serves the torque converter and forward/reverse clutch pack)in my Allis Chalmers HD-4.
The service manual is of no help here as it says to remove drain plugs from forward and rear cavities without showing what or where they are talking about. This machine has a full pan under it with one access hole in it which seems to be intended for draining engine crankcase oil.
So how do I go about this? I was thinking of disconnecting the suction tube from the torque converter pump and then rig a system to vacuum the oil out of the sump.
Any ideas or advice here? Thanks.
Randy
