Bristol 22 Repower (petrol)

Hi all, Has anyone re-powered a Bristol 22/20 with a different petrol engine, or is there another approach. Currently using the petrol Austin A70 engine 2.2l and thought perhaps an 1800cc Nissan engine might be an idea moving forward. The crawler is pretty good nick (except bonnet and grill). The engine is tired and different things are just wearing out. Replaced generator, then radiator, then carb, then distributor and now the water-pump has failed all in last 6 months. Down to 100psi compression across each cylinder (even tho) so looking at options/ideas. Thanks in advance.
