working on a traxcavator with a stuck steering clutch. we pulled the cover under the seat and can see one "crank" isnt movint at all, it is stuck in the disengaged position, any ideas on freeing this,, the pin that goes down through the "crank" is stuck and will not move, could this be our problem or something else? Thanks,

Take a bar and try prying that crank back to the engaged position. You might get lucky and find the problem is that it is seized on the shaft. There are roller bearings in there and no way to lube them. I had this happen on an old D8 and lots of working back and forth and loose juice and finally drilling a small hole to get oil in there free'ed it up.

Is the clutch stuck engaged or disengaged? If engaged you may be able to break it free.

If you have to tear it down to fix it is a he** of a job on a 933.

stuck disengaged, we were able to adjust the clutch to be engaged so the track will pull, cant stop it on that side but the guy is able to do some work with the dozer now. we are soaking the parts daily with a mix of ATF and acetone, and using other stuff on it too, hopefully it frees up and lets us remove it to replace the bearing
