Ford 4500 Question

I recently bought a '75 model Ford 4500 backhoe. I thought one of the backhoe cylinders needed to be rebuilt, but it turns out one of the aluminum caps was all chewed up inside. I was wondering if there are any other hydraulic cylinders that would work to replace the cylinder that actuates the bucket? I'm trying to see if I can find more options for a used replacement. Any info would be much appreciated.

Aluminum caps, do you mean the rod gland? If the rod
gland is bad a good machine shop can make you a new one.

For new hydraulic cylinders, we always have had good luck with Surplus Center out of Nebraska. Their catalog shows about everything hydraulic cylinders, motors, valves, just about everything anyone needs for the rebuilder of machinery.Prices are reasonable compared to local (around us, for new). Shipping is reasonable and get the merchandise delivered on time. Good company to deal with, they have a tech support for questions and answers also. Hope this helps.
