TD-14 late style head on early block?

Will a late style head work on a early block? Thanks,PK.

YES But to get the advantage of the jet head you have to have the latter head gasket. One more water hole to the best of my memory.

There is more to it than head gasket some of the water ports coming out of block have to be tapped and plugged off as well when upgrading to older block to jet head

Do you just eyeball the old and new head to know which passages to plug? I might not have to go this road as I've found a whole running motor but it does expand my search for just a head. PK
