Only wants to hit on one cylinder on pony motor about ever other stroke. Are the valves hung up?

Been a side valve the valves can hang up esp if its been sitting for a long time,test the compression,remove the spark plugs and block the plug hole with your thumb and turn the pony over,you will feel the pressure if it's got compression,if it has see the plug leads are good and have a spark,clean and set the plugs and try again,if you cant feel the compression a valve is probably stuck.
