need help finding front wheel seals for a 1968 680ck 2wd.Can't seem to find them any place other than the dealer. The price there is WAY CRAZY!! Any help would be great!
Thanks!

If you have popped out one of the old seals, clean it up and look for the make of the seal as well as the part number. If you have a good place close to you that sells bearings and seals you may get a better price than at the dealer. If you find the seal number, type it in on a google search.....you may be surprised at the information you may run into. I've located hard to find bearings that way and at good pricing.

I have the old seal out.there is no part number on it.Just has a Pat. number 2264739. Made by Ohio Rubber Co.This number dose not cross. Anyone with a 9N that has done seals. Will know this Pat number, but 9N seals are right type of seal, but not the right size. The dealer wants $156.00 for each seal. Plus Case uses a tin basket bolted to back of the hub. holding the seal no longer available even through dealer. One got wrecked when the wheel bearing went. Bearings are not the problem I got them at the part store.

A good parts store should be able to come up with the correct seal by measuring the old one. Inside diameter, outside diameter and width. Granted there are a few seals that the manufactures hold the rights to and you are stuck buying from them.

I had 2 very good parts guys at 2 diffrent stores try and find a seal in there books. That would work no luck.I can only find close I would still need to send Hubs out to have it turned out to fit larger OD seal. The problem is I find the right ID wrong OD or the other way around.I know this sounds crude, but I don't have much more digging to do.I been thinking just grease it it up throw the hubs back on and go for it.Wheel bearings for it are dirt cheap.I guess I hoped someone one here had this problem and know of a easy fix.In the end I will probley just have the hubs turned out.to fit a bigger OD seal.

If you can't find a seal, you can drill and thread in a grease nipple
on the hub between the bearings and pump it full of grease 'til it
pushes out at the back where the seal should be......every week you
use the machine pump a bit more grease in ......you'll have clean
grease coming out the inner bearing all the time and nowhere for
dirt to get in unless you submerge the front end in water or soupy
mud.

here's a link that should be able to fix you up or call Columbus Bearing and Industrial Supply, ask for Bruce,if it can be bought he can find it...979-732-6236

I went on to the on-line Napa site and put in the number you quoted, it comes up as a wheel seal with a Napa part number of NOS 27430,the dimension of the seal is 3.781" X 2.75" X .35", compare the size with yours it may be the same.

The number I quoted is just a patent number I already tryed it.This number is the same Number you would find on a old 9N hub seal which is just a smaller version of the old seal. I pulled from my Case. Sanels Auto Parts comes up with same type of seal you came up with OD is close but ID is way off. But thanks for trying.
