New holland dc85 Dozer

Hello all. I bought a DC 85 Dozer from a very reputable
farmer/dealer. He swears sideway to Sunday it runs as a new
machine. He did a couple ponds etc with it. Well, it sat all winter
,loaded it on the trailer and sent it. When i lower the blade and start
working ,it will barely crawl,it is PATHETIC !!!!! I had a new DC 70
years ago,so I have a fair idea what this animal should do ! I put
both new filters on the hydraulics tonight . Zero change. Dealer says
maybe hydros?? I don't think so.. 2400 hrs on unit, filter I took off
said 1400,so,at least they were changed once or twice.. I'm gonna
throw a fuel filter at it,but it does NOT seem to be a power issue.
Shifting through all the gears,4,5 ? The gauge moves but no speed
change, just slight rpm changes. Once every 200 feet it will " grab"
and take off a second, then right back to a literal pathetic crawl. I
know I need someone to hook up diagnostics to the hydraulic
ports, but there are NO dealers for 100? miles ! Thanx all !

Could it be a linkage problem for the hydro's that isn't allowing enough movement, which in turn isn't allowing enough oil flow? I had a linkage break on skid steer and one side wouldn't drive at all. Is there a parking brake or hydro lock that isn't releasing?

I appreciate it ! Parking brakes ARE releasing perfect. I too question the linkages. It doesn't "snap" back to neutral. But as always,I wasn't specific enough! He used it last fall. It sat ALL winter. So,at his word,,everything mechanical SHOULD be right, I truly thought the filters would get her rockin again. No go at all. Guess I already know my own answer lol. Gonna need a trained tech on this machine to look at her : ((((. I am going to check the linkages!

I know 'zero' about that tractor... That said... I'd start by looking at the control linkages and make sure that's all working freely. Lots of things can set up over winter. If that doesn't yield anything... Then I'd probably find the suction strainer for the charge pump assuming that it's a hydro machine... clean the strainer. Check for suction leaks, etc. Any charge pump should be a gear type and self priming provided the suction/sump is not obstructed.
This isn't one of those fancy joystick drive type machines with electronic controls for the hydro is it?

If memory serves me correctly on left side of platform under the cover is the hydro ECM. There is a switch you can flip to take ECM out of loop and this allows you to operate the dozer controlling hydro manually .

What this means is dozer will operate like a skis steer hydro does. No brain to adjust the hydro to load automatically.

Try this and see it it moves. Your DC70 had the same over ride for ECM.

Thanx guys ! Yes,,it is a FANCY lol,,new one joystick machine w 5 or 6 ? Electrical ,optional,,gears. But yes,,forward is F and R is reverse. Not familiar with charge pump, strainer etc.. But yes,,something HAS to have set up being outside all winter. GRRRRRR!! SO much work planned and NO time to put into wrenching...
