D2 sealed chains???

Guy"s, I tried to post his a few days ago and some of you thought I was a scammer. Some got it right. I am a missionary to Cambodia where we have raised 11,000 orphans over the past 15 years. Now, I did buy D3-B chains from "Crawler Heaven" in NY State. But I have a rice combine (we raise 500 acres of rice to feed the orphans) from him a few years ago, but he seems to be out of business. Now, here"s the deal, I bought a rice combine, made in Thailand, that uses D-2 chains. In this sandy loam mud of Cambodia they don"t hold up. I"d like to find a set of sealed (oil chains for a D-2. Are they available??? See website: www.fcopi.org if you think I"m a scammer. Photo attached.

Camboted why don't you post this on the Case Forum also. They have a lot of great members who might have access to aftermarket parts

If you have Caterpillar D2 track frames, I do not believe there are any aftermarket suppliers of those parts, S.A.L.T. or what came on those tractors. CAT does not offer any, you could do some research to see if Berco or similar offers any sealed chain for those track frames.

It would appear that perhaps you may have to convert those track frames to D3 undercarriage, which may be available in S.A.L.T. There is some work involved with doing that, someone on ACMOC or ACME antique caterpillar forums may be of better help than I, would not hurt to ask over there as to what options you may have with this.

CAMBOTED I will work on your problem. I have a berco and Itrac book. Mybe I can find something with same specs..
Now I have a question for you . I have made several trips over to Japan and Kubota makes the rice combines like you have picture BUT the front gathering unit is like for rows. I was wanting to import on to usa but need the wide cut header as you have in your photo. Have you seen KUBOTA harversters there with the wide head?

I really doubt you can get SALT tracks for a D2. A D2 is a pretty old machine. You can get them for a D3 though. If you know the pitch, there may be some SALT tracks from another machine that are the same pitch as D2 tracks.

I don't believe anyone is producing D2 SALT tracks but I've heard they are available dry.
D3 SALT tracks are available, same 6.125" pitch but you will have to change to D3 sprocket rim because the pin diameter is 1.85" where the D2 is 1.69".

Old Magnet, good to see you over here ! Hope all is well out your way !

Who was the fellow that did a complete ground up build of a D2 up in Canada, that converted to D3 U/C ? Probably archived in ACMOC or ACME, but the photos were really informative. It was a great thread to follow. He changed to the D3 pitch, and had to do some modification to either the track frames or the rollers to get the right fit,I really forget now, but was a nice job, worth doing as it was not all that complicated, mostly work, of course that was a really nice shop with machining capability, the benefit was now you can use D3 components which are available, for the longest time it seems no new U/C parts were available for the D2.

Yes, I have copies of the pictures of D2 track truck modifications. Problem is if you use the D3 rollers they are a much smaller diameter than D2 originals so a spacer bar is required to make up the difference.
