Roy DT has told you exactly what is there and how BUT it is NOT a job for a novice, experienced mechanics still mess it up and it is harder to do with the pump on the machine. Pumps shops can reseal it in a short time but if you try it he was right you have to get it clean and keep it clean and do not loos the small springs

I believe Roy is a very experienced long time JD mechanic from reading his previous posts. It sounds like he just hasn't worked on this type of pump before so was asking before he got into it. That seems logical to me. A novice would have just took it apart. Sometimes you have to give people the benefit of the doubt that they know what they're doing.

Sorry Stick Just did not know the guy and di not want destroying his pump. I am all for a man going for it. Hope he get it going and surely did not mean he was unqualified only trying to tell him caution was in order.
