Diesel KiKi injector pump problem

One of my friends has a Komatsu PC-120 excavator.. On the injector pump where the injector lines comes out on top, there are six fittings with 3 sets of "locks" right on top.. It started leaking between between these fittings and the top of the injector pump main housing.. Does anyone know what's under these fittings ?? I'd hate to remove these fittings and have a real mess on my hands by "stuff" launching" from the pump by a KiKi novice..Are there o-rings or copper washers sealing these fittings.. And why would 4 of the 6 fittings start leaking all at once ?? Thanks..

Each line fitting has an O ring to seal in top of housing bore that can fail over time. If the screw clamps can be removed and pump top area thoroughly cleaned each delivery valve fitting can be removed to replace the O ring. There is a spring inside too, and some have a peg in top of spring, also a brass washer on valve top that seals to fitting inside. You will need the pump assembly ten digit # to get the right O rings, for example, 123456-1234 on pump tag. Probably a PES A or AD model pump, each use different seals. Not common for so many to leak at once, but does happen.
You will need the proper torque spec too.

Roy DT has told you exactly what is there and how BUT it is NOT a job for a novice, experienced mechanics still mess it up and it is harder to do with the pump on the machine. Pumps shops can reseal it in a short time but if you try it he was right you have to get it clean and keep it clean and do not loos the small springs

I believe Roy is a very experienced long time JD mechanic from reading his previous posts. It sounds like he just hasn't worked on this type of pump before so was asking before he got into it. That seems logical to me. A novice would have just took it apart. Sometimes you have to give people the benefit of the doubt that they know what they're doing.

Sorry Stick Just did not know the guy and di not want destroying his pump. I am all for a man going for it. Hope he get it going and surely did not mean he was unqualified only trying to tell him caution was in order.

I doubt if there is more than one leaking but it is best to replace them all,the copper gasket that goes between the holder and the delivery valve is usually the cause of the leak rather than the o-ring so change both,do one at a time,do not turn the engine over with the delivery valve holder out,and as stated clean the top before you start, you need the torque for the holders to tighten to spec, ensure the clamps are put on properly so the holders don't move when the injector pipes are been tightened or loosened as that is often the cause of the problem.
