Hello everyone. I bought a Case 450 crawler loader serial number 302... that has a Case combine A201G engine in it. Cylinder number 4 pumps coolant out the exhaust so I removed the head. The gasket looked good so I had the head checked for cracks. None were found. Any ideas?

Can the crack be seen on the piston side? I inspected the sleeve and didn't see a thing. Could the block over heat and warp enough to allow the head gasket to fail?

The head is removed but the water jacket is still full up to the top of the block. If the sleeve was cracked, and the piston set at BDC would the coolant not flood the cylinder over time? Just a thought

The crack will be small/ tight. When the compression happens the pressure will open the crack a little. If you run the engine long enough yes the crack will get larger and water will run in.

I know the water is coming from number 4 because I removed the cylinder head right after I ran it. When I removed the intake/exhause manifold only the #4 exhaust port was soaked in coolant. All other cylinders and ports were dry. What are you thinking?
