Thanks to Keith Molden, I now have a good track adjuster. My question now is can the adjuster be changed without splitting the track? I can get the bent one off with just the torch (after letting all the spring tension off). It is the install part I have a question with. I also want to check the right front idler bushing as it looks a little loose. Yes, I do have all three manuals for it. (operators, parts, service)
I do not have access to the expensive looking track press in the JD manuals. Will a heavy gear puller or something like that work? My master pins do not look like they have the snap ring. They are the same length as the others, but with the big dimple in the center. If I split the tracks, should I buy new master pins with the snap ring or just re-use the old ones?
