Allis Chalmers HD-6

I'm looking at buying an Allis Chalmers HD-6B. The serial number is HD6B-2186. I cannot find a list of manufacture dates anywhere. Can anyone tell me what year it is?

My HD6B is a 1956. # is HD6B1358

Your's is a 1956 model also. 1957 starts out with # 6466

LJD thankyou for your responds, the machine seems to be in decent shape , undercarrige is about 70% ,have not heard it run yet ,maybe tomorrow,Owen

Mine has been a good machine. My only complaint is it's a bit too fast in 1st gear. The 344 four-stroke Buda engine has been great but if I ever need parts - it would be real expensive to fix.
HD5 is basically the same machine with with a two-stroke-cycle Detroit.

Guys I realized I wrote the wrong serial number. It's HD6B-21186. Obviously that changes the year. I'm assuming late 50's? It still has a hand clutch

Serial # 21186 is a 1968 model. Your engine is direct injected whereas the older ones are more-or-less indirect injected with "energy cells." DI started in model year 1963.

@ LJD:

If you ever need Buda parts you might give this guy a call, I found him here on YT . (PS: I have a Buda Lanova 6 cyl. Diesel "stationary" with Twin Disc clutch on my mine hoist).
