Got an old D6 manuel transmission hand clutchthat is hard to start have to either it even in summer got a huge battery but doesnt seem to crank fast enough i noticed that the drive shaft spins when cranking you have to let it warm up a while before you can get it in gear could the clutch need adjusted because i think its spinnin the transmission when trying to start or is it supposed to spin everything

If your D6 is direct start maybe you have a 24volts startor you need 2 battery 12 volts and for angaging trouble your brake cluch need adjustement

It has a decompresion lever that it supose to spin fast enough then give it compresion and start. Course maybe a pony motor what i need lol

The machine would have a pony motor originally but has been converted,it should have a 24 volt starting system fitted which would include glow plugs and 24v charging, the idea of the decompression was for to engage the pony motor and build up fuel and oil pressure, you would then with the throttle in the stop position go to full compression, spin over on full compression so the air in the cylinders gets hot, give it throttle and the engine would start, the use of ether has probably caused the ring gaps to widen resulting in poor compression and hard starting.
