I am helping repair a hyd leak on a poclain 160 trac hoe. can't seem to find fittings to make up a hyd. hose in my area, & recall nc wayne posted info about a supplier a while back. best info i can find about it is its called a 'gaz 24 degree french male ferrule', the end that is broken is aprox 1/2'' id thick walled tube, bent 90*,with this ferrule & 2 bolt flange, collar attached to crimp to rubber hose aprox 30 in'long-other end is straight, flange. female. [i know this is all metric, but this gives an idea--not big, but i understand its pretty high pressure--tried a make-shift ferrule,no.has to be that 24 thanks for any help---

I really don'tremember the post your talking about, but here are a few links giving dimensions, etc for the GAZ fittings that might help you identify what you have a little better. If hydraulic shops in your area are like around here, I seriously doubt any but the largest shops are gonna stock any GAZ fittings, so you might need to figure out exactly what size, etc you need, and then call and get someone to order the fittings.

That said if your in the NC area there is a place in Charlotte called Custom Hydraulics that keeps one of the widest selections of both standard and metric fittings in stock I know of. Give their site a once over, for the number, and call them with your needs. I guarantee if they don't have it they can get it for you. Good luck.

Another possibility if the fittings cannot be found or are too costly, and if the pipes can be easily removed, is just to cut off the offending fitting and weld on something more common, like JIC. Obviously, this isn't for kids, you'll need to be a decent welder or have access to one. But when you're working with heavy wall tubing your options are almost unlimited.

Go to your CNH (Case) dealer for parts for your Poclain, you can look up the parts catalog on line,go to the link below, page opens, click on the top option "Find parts by model",type 160 in the search box and click search and it will bring up your machine,go to the sub section for the part you require.

thanks for the help, guys--new hose is still out there as per site recommended--after reading on discount hyds, figured out what i was callin a 'ferrule' is properly called 'metric tube sleeve/cutting ring' was able to find this local, 20mm x 24 degree. ok-,my tube was 22mm x 90 degree x hammered on x ferrule-[wrong one] sweated on--etc--had room to cut this mess back some & work it down to 20mm x round-pulled it in with the 2 bolt floating flange-looks like a temp fix!
