Well I got some cracks my block hers a 17A
Cat been having a bunch of problems getting
Psi n the coolant system pulled the liners
Have a low spot close to one liner water passage
Took the studs out have 3 cracks towards the liner
N the streads have any fixs for this

you could try Loctite 567 thread sealer or IF the studs can stay in,you can JB Weld em in...thats an application where there shouldnt be extreme heat.
if you can find it theres a product called DevCon...its a industrial strength jb weld.

You need a Cat mechanic to look at that block and determine if the liner seats need to be re-cut, its the top of the liner where the gasket sits that seals the compression in,the liner hight is crucial as it determines the pinch on the gasket,he will know if the liner can be reused but that is not common practice as the liner seat can go off square and will not sit even,he also will advise you about the cracks, nose around your Cat dealer and you might find a field service engineer that that will help you out for a six pack or two.
Good luck

The key to welding cast is in preheating it with a torch.
I have done blocks and had a lot of success at it. I normally heat it to cherry red and then I weld with a Ni rod. Immediately after welding it I cool it with water on a sponge. The cast is poreous, so if you can get it flowing you can weld it.

Why would you cool it with a wet sponge? That
defeats the purpose of preheating it. Normally you'd
want to wrap it up and slow cool it after welding.

Thanks we did it all and it's just too many
As we worked we found more
My welder gave up after a long night of disappointment
I'm going to tear it down all the way and
Use anoughter block thanks for your advice

All epoxies break down with heat, if you want those studs to stay in place use "CAT GREEN" Cement, those studs will be there until HELL FREEZES OVER. Every part that I've used "CAT GREEN" on, I've had to use a cutting torch to remove them.
